What steps should I take to inform immigration about my quarantine and apply for a Covid extension after my TR Visa expires?

Hello everyone.

I am on a TR Visa (COVID-19 extension) that expires on 9th Sept 2021.

I have recently come in contact with someone who has contracted Covid and need to quarantine for 14 days. Hence it will be impossible for me to go to Immigration (CW) in person and apply for the 60 day Covid extension.

I could use some advice on the procedure to inform immigration of my quarantine status as well as how to go about applying for the extension after the quarantine period has concluded.

Thanks in advance ( :

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a TR Visa (COVID-19 extension) expiring on September 9, 2021, and faces the challenge of needing to quarantine for 14 days after exposure to a COVID-19 case. They are seeking advice on notifying immigration about their quarantine and the subsequent application process for a 60-day extension post-quarantine. Responses indicate that there is no established process to extend the visa due to quarantine, and that the user will likely incur an overstay fine if they miss the deadline. It's important to clarify whether the quarantine is government mandated or voluntary, as this could affect the procedures.

Given that the OP didn't respond to my questions, I don't see the point in keeping commenting opening.

What does "need to quarantine" mean exactly? Is quarantining something you WANT to do, or are you ORDERED to do quarantining by the government (along with the relevant paperwork)?

i think the advice is to self isolate at home after a covid positive contact. Not wander into MTT or CW....

An advice is not an order though πŸ™And he didn't test positive either (according to the post).

the advice from MOPH would be she should self isolate, wait 5-7 days following the 'close contact' before getting tested. And is either negative and free, or positive and staying home

She has only two solutions

Is she being supervised by a doctor? if so, contact the hospital and ask them if there's a process to get a 90 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to medical reasons.

Is she NOT being supervised by the doctor, and the government is just giving "an advice" to stay home? She either has to stay "self isolated" and pay the fine when she stops isolating, OR break the "advice" and get a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19.

There is ONE major problem if she decides to go on the "overstay and pay the fine" route. IF she does test positive for COVID-19 AFTER she finishes "self isolating", and is transported to a hospital, I do not know if immigration is willing to give her a 90 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to medical reasons, because she's already on overstay.

yes, an this needing an 'order' to play your part in a pandemic is pretty poor thinking to be fair.

Either be part of the solution or you are part of the problem. Covid doesn't give a flying xyz if it's an order or advice

Where I was going with my question to the OP is that IF he's under an order, and if he's being visited by a nurse or a doctor of some type, to ask the hospital to apply for a 90 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to medical reasons. He would not have to go and do it in person, the doctor can do it for him. But of course, that all depends on what this "we advise you to stay home" means exactly πŸ™ And he didn't respond to my question about what "need to quarantine" means exactly.

There is no procedure to buy time to quarantine so you can go after it. IF your stamp runs out and you can't get to the immigration office you'll go on overstay at 500 baht a day.

Then you show up at the office pay the overstay fine and apply for a new 60 day covid extension. IF you quarantine staring from now, you'll be on a 5 day overstay when you can go (your stamp expires on the 9 and you can't go until the 14th at the soonest)
