Hi, I have an question to ask about overstaying.
I Currently in Chanthaburi, came on 26 May from Singapore on tourist visa. Visa extended for a month plus covid extension 2 months. Need to leave by 22 Oct, which is tomorrow and my flight is at 1830. My country has a requirement to do PCR test 48 hours before my flight.
The hospital I went to is Bangkok hospital Chanthaburi and had my covid test done today morning, and was told that I will have my result tonight. But due to unforeseen circumstances, the hospital unable to get my result in time which causes me unable to board my flight back to Singapore tomorrow. My visa ends tomorrow 22 Oct. Tomorrow all immigration is closed due to holiday and then there’s Saturday and Sunday. So if my visa has ended, can I go back to Chanthaburi immigration office to explain my situation, so that they can give me an extension of 7 days, so that I won’t get fine for overstaying?
If there’s not an option, then how do I pay the fine for overstaying? Is it when I’m at the Bangkok airport immigration when im about to get my passport stamped then they will ask to pay the fine of 500baht/day?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing an issue with overstaying their tourist visa in Thailand due to a delayed COVID-19 test result, preventing them from departing on their flight. The immigration office will be closed due to a holiday, and the user is seeking advice on how to manage their situation to avoid fines. Comments indicate that it is possible to request a 7-day extension from the immigration office after the holiday, or if the user overstays, they can pay a fine of 500 baht per day at immigration upon departure.
