What should I do about my overstayed COVID extension visa in Thailand?

Hi all please looking for any/all advice as completely clueless.

Came into Thailand in March on 30 day-on arrival visa, extended with tourist extension and then later with a COVID extension. I have accidentally overstayed on this COVID extension by a couple of days now however when I went to immigration here they said I could still get another COVID extension I just have to pay the fine for each overstayed day and show I will be leaving the country after.

I am wanting to know what my best option is? Rent a flight websites? Visa-run? (If so to where/for how long etc), coming back on what visa? Does anyone think I’d even be able to get another extension at the end of this one?

Thanks in advance as completely new to all of this.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on handling an overstayed COVID extension in Thailand, which resulted from multiple extensions of an initial 30-day visa on arrival. They've been informed by immigration that they can obtain another extension by paying a fine for the overstayed days and providing proof of departure from the country. Responses from the community suggest options such as applying for the extension, purchasing a dummy flight ticket, and potentially doing a border run while cautioning about the risks of getting caught during the process.

Do a border bounce pay your overstay fee at the border…pray you don’t get arrested or checked by the BiB along your journey to the border and get incarcerated…good luck

why can’t you understand that the common lay person has no idea what a 30 day visa free stamp is and let them use the 30 day visa on arrival verbiage…some people don’t care at all about technicalities they just want to have a good time in life… unlike you obviously

it’s not a technicality it’s visa exempt. these are basic concepts. if a person cannot understand the most simplest concepts how can they govern there own life.

Calculate what the date will be 60days after your last extension finished. Buy a flight out of Thailand on that date. Go back to immigration and pay the fine @500thb a day. Apply for COVID extension. Don't get caught by the rozzers on the way to immigration.

You could try doing what immigration told you.

Proof of leaving Thailand is a very common requirement for people applying for Covid extension.
