Is it easier to apply for the DTV visa from Vietnam instead of Kuala Lumpur, and do I need to withdraw my application?

Hi!

I'm currently applying for the DTV in KL, and after doing some research, I found out that it's one of the hardest places to apply from since they requested authenticated documents, but the US embassy doesn't authenticate those documents in Malaysia.

I was wondering if it'd be easier to go to another country, like Vietnam, and start the process there. If so, do I have to withdraw my process in KL?

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing challenges applying for a DTV visa in Kuala Lumpur due to the difficulty in obtaining authenticated documents, as the US embassy does not provide this service in Malaysia. They are considering applying from another country like Vietnam and are unsure if they need to withdraw their KL application first. Responses from the community suggest that it is harder to get DTV approval in KL, and one should wait for the rejection of the KL application before applying elsewhere, as no refunds are given.

You could take the documents to a local notary/apostile, they should be able to authenticate the documents.

I have no utilised any services in KL but these came up on google.

Check if you need appointments.

You need to wait until KL cancels/rejects your application then apply elsewhere. No refund given, KL is infamous for being the strictest embassy to give DTV approval, All other SE Asian countries are easier, Vietnam, Indonesia, Laos, Manill. Cambodia also but a 4-6 week wait.
