Is it easier to apply for the DTV visa from Vietnam instead of Kuala Lumpur, and do I need to withdraw my application?

Hi!

I'm currently applying for the DTV in KL, and after doing some research, I found out that it's one of the hardest places to apply from since they requested authenticated documents, but the US embassy doesn't authenticate those documents in Malaysia.

I was wondering if it'd be easier to go to another country, like Vietnam, and start the process there. If so, do I have to withdraw my process in KL?

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a DTV visa in Kuala Lumpur (KL) and finds it challenging due to document authentication issues, as the US embassy does not provide such authentication in Malaysia. They consider applying from Vietnam instead and want to know if they need to withdraw their current application in KL. Responses point out that one should wait for the KL application to be canceled before applying elsewhere, as KL is known for being strict and provides no refund. They suggest that applying in other Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam, Indonesia, or Laos may be easier.

You could take the documents to a local notary/apostile, they should be able to authenticate the documents.

I have no utilised any services in KL but these came up on google.

Check if you need appointments.

You need to wait until KL cancels/rejects your application then apply elsewhere. No refund given, KL is infamous for being the strictest embassy to give DTV approval, All other SE Asian countries are easier, Vietnam, Indonesia, Laos, Manill. Cambodia also but a 4-6 week wait.
