What is the bank balance requirement for the Thai DTV visa application through the Jakarta Embassy?

Hi everyone, I’m planning to apply for the DTV via the Thai Embassy in Jakarta while I’m currently in Bali. I have a question about the 500,000 THB bank balance requirement.

Is it enough to show a closing balance of at least 500,000 THB in the most recent bank statement, or do they actually require you to maintain that balance over multiple months (like 3 or 6 months)?

And if they do check the last few months, do they only look at the closing balance of each month, or do they care about the average daily balance or full-month consistency?

For context:

I’m a frontend developer working remotely, and I receive my salary in USD. I can provide proof of 1.5 years of consistent monthly payments if that helps support the application.

If anyone has applied through Jakarta and can share their experience, I’d really appreciate it, thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is planning to apply for a DTV visa at the Thai Embassy in Jakarta and inquires about the bank balance requirement of 500,000 THB. They ask if it’s acceptable to show a recent statement with this amount or if a maintained balance over several months is necessary. They also question whether the embassy considers only the closing balance or the average monthly balance. One commenter advises confirming the specific requirements with the embassy, noting that recent approvals have shown flexibility.

You should confirm with the Jakarta embassy if a recent deposit of 500k is ok with 3-6 mths of statements. Similar approvals have been made recently but best to confirm as things can quickly change.

Hey, I just got approved in JKT a few days ago. It took me 5 days only. My 500k is only shown within 1 month not the entire 3 months. From what I can share with you, as long as you have a legit document from your remote work as the following:

1. Your company issued you an employment certificate in which it says they endorse you to stay and work remotely in thailand

2. Company registration document/certificate legal verification

3. Salary slip 3-6 months that you can also shown in your bank statement, they are sent to you with correct numbers

If you have all the above, the 500k thb wont be required to stay in 3 months. Let me know if you need more details

Thanks for the update, very useful info as there is conflicting information regarding the 500k needing 3 months in the account

Thanks! In my case, the balance has already been over 500k THB on the last day of each month for the past 6 months, so no recent large deposit or transfer needed. At the time of application, my account will also still have more than 500k THB.

I’m just curious about do they only check the end-of-month balances, or does the account need to consistently stay above 500k THB every single day with no dips below?

Anonymous participant So you are fine then. No problem with it not being 500k every day.

Also, the Thai e-visa website doesn’t allow spaces in the First Name field on the registration form (the Create Account part), but I have two names. Should I type without spacing?

Anonymous participant For creating a count name it is ok to put 2 names with no spacing but when you get to the actual application form there must be spaces between the names as your passport.
