What should I do if my TM47 application is still pending close to the grace period deadline?

I have a question about the TM47.

I filed on May 3, four days before the due date of May 7, and received an email confirmation with the application as a PDF attachment.

The website has shown the status as pending ever since. If I understand correctly, the grace period ends Tuesday, May 14.

I am nervous because my TM47 application has never remained in pending status for this long before. Am I safe as long as I have a copy of the PDF attachment of the application from the May 3 email from immigration?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user filed their TM47 application on May 3, ahead of the due date of May 7, and has had pending status since then. They are concerned about the potential implications, as the grace period ends on May 14. Commenters suggest that simply having the PDF confirmation is not enough; the user should check the status again on May 14, and if still pending, it's advisable to cancel the application and report to the immigration office in person to avoid any problems.

If you were approved it’s ok

It hasn’t been processed yet, just acknowledged my TM47 filing application. So the status still says “pending”.

This happens to me frequently, I phone the office and they look after it for me usually in a matter of a couple of hours. I have no need to go to the office, I just give them a call.

Unfortunately, no, you are not safe just with a PDF from the email "[TM.47] (PASSPORT NO : xxx) FORM FOR ALIEN TO NOTIFY OF STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS RECEIVED".

You have to wait to get the result, approved or rejected, OR until just before "7 days after" is up.

If rejected, or still pending, You have to go to your local immigration office to report 90 days in person, but make sure you cancel your pending report.

Seeing your due was 7 May, this is what I would do.

Wait until tomorrow morning and check the status. If still pending, cancel it and head to the immigration office. I wouldn't take a risk for any issue in case the officer counts 7 days starting on the due date (and most likely is the case).
