TLDR : Answer Summary
When traveling back to Thailand with an expired passport that contains your retirement visa and re-entry permit, you need to carry both your old and new passports. Upon arrival in Thailand, go to the immigration office to have your visa and entry stamp transferred to your new passport. Additionally, ensure you obtain a re-entry permit to present alongside your old passport when returning.

Get a re-entry permit too. Present it on the old PP when you return. Good luck!

You carry both passports with you to enter Thailand. Then once you are in Thailand you go to your immigration office and get your extension and entry stamp transferred to your new passport.
