What should I do if my entry stamp only reflects a 45-day tourist visa instead of the expected 90 days?

My son is on an Ed visa- and my trailing visa- is a Non-Imm O- both 90 days. When arriving, I showed documents to immigration, and after realized our stamps seem to reflect- just a 45 day tourist entry. Isn't this supposted to reflect 90 days on the entry stamp? And now, do I need to go to immigration to sort out? If there is anyone out there that knows of what to do, I would be appreciative of any info.! I have booked ourselves an immigration appt. so that they can check our status.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about receiving an incorrect entry stamp indicating a 45-day tourist visa instead of the expected 90 days for their Non-Imm O visa and their son's ED visa. After reviewing their documentation at immigration, they scheduled an appointment to resolve the issue. Community members advised them to check their stamps upon entry and informed them they might need to pay for a tourist visa extension or leave and re-enter on their Non-O visa. The user later confirmed that they would need to leave Thailand for a short trip to reset their visa and expressed gratitude for the community's advice.

Thanks everyone for the quick input! So yes- UPDATE: Went to immigration- and basically have to leave and come back in on my Non-O or pay $1900 to up my tourist visa an additional 30 days. Luckily, scheduled to leave TH anyway for a quick trip, so can come back in on the Non-O when I get back and then that visa will start from that return date. I appreciate everyone's input.

What ED visa are you asking about? First one for 3 month, one-entry, extended 1 year. Does it say multi-entry?

And your son? I just found out today that ED visas are one-entry only and in order to leave Thailand and come back again one need to get a Permission to leave (applied in person (child or adult) at the immigration office.

yes- my son's in an ED- single entry- and my non-O attached to his is a multi entry- We need to travel back and forth for work to the philippines next month- so I purchased the multi- entry- but could not do so for my son on an Ed visa. not sure - but I think at this point- I will be charged to switch over to tourist.

Thank you for your response!! The Thai embassy emailed me a letter to print off. This is what I showed the officer at entry. She reviewed our letters, then stamped and waived us through. Flew into BKK now in Phuket- have immigration appt. here- for day 45. Will they make me pay to extend on a tourist? and then I will have to go to BKK to sort?

it's very possible that Phuket cannot do anything to help you since they didn't give you the entry stamp.

The only extension you can get if they can't fix the stamp is the 30 day tourist extension which is 1900 baht.

If the immigration office in Phuket can't fix it, the only thing you can do is leave the country and re-enter and make sure they stamp you in correctly with your visa.

If you get the tourist extension you lose the ability for anyone to fix the entrance stamp and then leaving and re-entering will be your only option.

should she go to immigration before day 45? Try to fix this?

the longer waiting the less chance it can be fixed

yes, I thought that might be so.

It's your responsibility to check your stamps before you leave and ensure you were given the correct stamps.

Did you have a visa sticker in your passport or a printed out e-visa? And if you had evisa did you give that to the passport control officer?

To get it fixed you'd need to go back to immigration. Preferably to the airport that you entered from, but if that's not possible then you'd still need to go to the immigration office in the same province as that airport.
