What should I do if I received the wrong visa stamp during my Thailand METV re-entry?

Please help!

So I'm in a bit of a pickle...

I have a METV visa that states that I needed to reenter before July 4th to get my stamp.

We did our visa run on July 2nd to Mae Sae and were supposed to get 60 days on our stamp as our METV was still valid.

I just looked today and they gave us a 30 day visa instead of 60 like our visa suggests.

So technically, we're 3 weeks overstay at this point.

The passport clearly tells the story and it shows that they gave us the wrong type of stamp.

How do I handle this and should it be easy enough to convey to immigration when we go get our 30 day extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is facing an issue with their METV visa after being stamped incorrectly for only 30 days instead of the expected 60 days. They are concerned about being in overstay due to this mistake. Comments from the community suggest visiting the immigration office to correct the stamp to reflect the proper duration. Most commenters agree that the process should be straightforward and that this type of error is not uncommon.

You're NOT on overstay, you were stamped in wrong. There is a HUGE difference :)

you need to pop on over to the immigration office as soon as you can to correct the stamp and after that apply for the 30 day extension ;)

Bet you'll look at your entry stamps from now on though :P

Believe me you're not the first foreigner to get stamped in wrong it's not a problem to go to the immigration office and get your stamp corrected to the 60 day stamp it should be.

Stamp correct is free at the immigration office

I guess Rule No. 1 , check the stamp before leaving immigration...
