What should I do if my daughter's ED Non-O visa was incorrectly stamped upon entry into Thailand?

Hi, my daughter is on an ED non-O visa with an extension of stay that expires Nov 2023. She has a multiple entry re-entry permit that expires the same time.

She entered Suvarnabhumi today and was stamped in with 45 days’ stay instead of the normal stay until Nov 2023.

I think I remember from previous posts that she has to abide by the stamp date, right? If so we’ll deal with it, but I just wanted to double check.

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses a situation where a daughter on an ED Non-O visa with an extension was stamped for only 45 days instead of until November 2023. Community responses confirm that the incorrect stamp should be corrected, and it is the visa holder's responsibility to check the stamp before leaving passport control. Correcting the stamp can usually be done at the airport where the person entered.

Last year I applied for a 30 day extension, but was stamped in my passport for 1 year and 30 days. (Officer set the wrong year on the date stamp). I thought about staying for longer than 30 days, but decided to go back to the same immigration office, and they corrected the stamp to 30 days.

It's a mistake that she didn't notify the IO that she already had a stamp, she needs to go to immigration and get it corrected, not sure if it has to be at the airport or at an office, I'm thinking airport.

There is no ED Non-O but that is neither here nor there, IF she was on an extension of stay from the immigration office & had a re-entry permit but was stamped in wrong she needs to go back to the airport she flew in at and get the stamp corrected.

She does NOT have to abide by a bad stamp <- BUT it's HER responsibility to look at the stamp she got before she walks away from passport control to make sure it was right 😮

They will correct the stamp at the airport, so send her back there..
