3 months over yesterday, about to leave Thailand completely around 25th-26th.
Should I pay for the week or get fined for 3-4 days

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing a dilemma about whether to pay a fine for a 3-4 days overstay in Thailand or risk being penalized. Community responses highlight that overstaying comes with risks, including fines, deportation, and potential bans from re-entering Thailand. Some suggest paying the fine at the airport as a more straightforward option, while others recommend extending the visa or performing a visa run. A general consensus is that overstaying, even for a short duration, can complicate future entries and visa applications.
I think he meant his three month visa exemption is over.

He said 3 months not 3 days

zero risk if you don’t overstay. unknown risk if you overstay, as you are then gambling on how thailand chooses to treat overstays in the future.

You can extend online apparently. They advertise it in the immigration office.
Also you can make an appointment online for the immigration office to skip the line.

Most probably if overstay is only for couple days, you’ll only need to pay fine and they’ll put a overstay stamp in your passport and in their system. You’ll not get banned, but acquiring some future Thailand visas might become more difficult and they might ask you to come for an visa interview to explain your case before granting/denying you the visa you applied for.

Perhaps you can perform a visa run.

It depends if you want to come back.

There are always risks involved with breaking the law.

U can pay for it at the airport but it will be recorded by that

It’s not just the fine, you are also prohibited from returning to Thailand for a predetermined amount of time
I would just go to airport and pay fine. A lot easier and hassle free than getting an extension, I have a few days overstay on my passport from a few years ago and I get in and out the country fine.
There's always a risk for overstay. For most people they'll just pay the fine at the airport and get an overstay stamp in their passport.
But out of all times to consider going on overstay, this is definitely not the time I would risk it. This is the time of the year when they do police checkpoints across the country and if you're caught by police even 1 day overstay you'll be arrested, deported and banned from Thailand.
he didn't break the law, I think he's just saying he's been stopped. It happens.

Funny enough I just got stopped at one of these police checkpoints. I'm in a rather remote mountain village in Chiang Rai so the police weren't really interested in trying to speak English but I'm sure if you're stopped in a major city they'll know more about checking visas and such.
no. You're held in immigration prison until you can pay for it yourself or find someone to pay. And it's more expensive than normal because it has to be a direct flight with no stops back to your home country. They'll give your passport to the airline staff and you don't get it back until you arrive
