Hello, I'm having to overstay my visa by just 3 days for the first time (flying to KL, coming back via Ko Lipe). I'm okay with a 1500baht fine and obv it's less than a 2k 30 day extension, but concerned they will put an overstay stamp and could it affect me coming back in? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is contemplating a 3-day overstay of their visa in Thailand, expressing concerns about potential repercussions such as receiving an overstay stamp which could impact future travel. Comments advise against planning an overstay due to strict enforcement against it, citing the possibility of being arrested for longer overstays and the negative implications on future visa applications in Thailand and possibly other countries.

It's never wise to plan to OVERSTAY.

Especially as there is a nationwide crackdown on OVERSTAY.

A tourist was arrested two days ago for being 8 days overstay.

Your planned OVERSTAY can affect your future applications for a visa... As well as other countries may decide to not allow you entry with the OVERSTAY stamp in your passport.

This is NOT the time to try to save 400bThai baht for an 1900 Thai baht extension of stay vs a 1500 Thai baht OVERSTAY fine.

ENOUGH SAID...

E-Brook: root around for some socks, shoes and a shirt with sleeves. Then make your way to the nearest immigration office. You’ll thank me later.
