Should I overstay my Thai visa before my flight home on December 7th?

Hi, I am a British citizen. I travel to Thailand on the 4th October on a 60 day visa. The visa runs out on the December 2nd. My flight home to the Uk is not until the 7th December. Should I exceed my visa once I am in Thailand just before I go home? Or will I be okay?

I booked my flights before researching about visas🙄

TLDR : Answer Summary
A British citizen traveling to Thailand on a 60-day visa, expiring on December 2nd, inquires whether to overstay the visa given their flight back to the UK is on December 7th. Comments suggest applying for a visa extension at immigration for an additional 30 days, or alternatively taking a quick trip out of Thailand to reset the visa. Overstaying is discouraged due to daily fines and potential legal trouble.

60days is 2nd Dec. I would definatly make an extension at the immigration. Then you do not have any hassle.

Copy of: passport (page of picture) page with entry stamp, departure card (you have that when you arrive) + 1 photo +1900,-- THB

Sign each copy with a blue ink pen.

Or you can take a quick trip out of Thailand for the weekend. UK passports should get 30 days or just pay 500 baht a day.for each overstay day 500x5=2500. Cost a bit more but better than going out of your way to extend visa

yup just like Robert said but make sure your bali trip return leaves you with 30 days in Bangkok. If you go to bali before, then your back with the same problem.

Not complete correct. You can by a Single re-entry permit, cost 1.000 Thb and on return you will get the same Admitted to Stay date as you had before. Because she like to stay more than the 60 days you get with a Single Entry Tourist Visa she still will be short on days on return.

You can buy a 're entry visa before you leave Thailand as far as I'm aware which means 2 month visa continues until original expiry date 1900 baht at the airport

No, you can not apply for a Thai visa, when you arrive in Thailand. You have to apply for a Visa at a Thai Consulate or Embassy before you make your way into Thailand. But seeing that you have UK passport you are legible for the free 30 day Visa Exempt Entry (entree without Visa), that will give you enough days if you return from Bali till your flight back to the UK.

Nina Wanglee we was thinking of going to bali for 2 weeks. If we leave the country does the 60 day visa automatically stop. If yes can we apply for another visa to get back into the country for our flight home to the Uk?

All true. Just presenting the options. I personally would just go on a weekend trip to Hanoi.

Nina Wanglee It is only 5 days, so 500 Thb a day fine, stamp in your passport for overstaying and hopefully during those 5 days he never get asked at some point to show his passport. If asked a can of worms opens up. You're a guest in Thailand, please obey the Immigration rules.

Any overstay could possibly cause you serious problems. It's not adviseable

Extension @1900bht from an immigration office gives you an additional 30 days. Overstay is 500bht a day & is in my opinion unwise as your liable for arrest & deportation if your stopped.

And they add the extension on top of your "admitted until" stamp. So, no downside to going early.

Michael Hay II not correct, Bangkok allows extensions within 45 days, not 60 days (immediately as you say).

1x passport photo, copy of passport front page, copy of Visa, copy of entry stamp & 1900bht fee. Bangkok offices normally allow you to extend immediately, some provincial officials won’t extend until 14 days are left.
