Hello
i need some advice please. I was made redundant from my job and work permit was cancelled. I then got the offer of another position but that fell through this week. I am entitled to a guardian visa as my daughter is studying. I have the necessary papers but the Thai immigration requires a set amount of money in my bank account 3 months prior to issuing the visa. This amount has just been transferred so should go into my Thai account this week. I have contacted my embassy for a supporting letter explaining my situation. Has anyone received a guardian visa with the 3 month nesting amount being waived at present? Not sure whether to try my luck at CW and hope I get someone who will issue the visa. kind regards
TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual seeks guidance on obtaining a guardian visa in Thailand after losing their job and having their work permit canceled. They have the necessary documentation as their daughter is studying in Thailand, but face challenges with the Thai immigration requirement for a specified amount in their bank account for 3 months prior to issuing the visa. There are insights from the community regarding the visa process, including that the cash requirement may only need to be shown as coming from overseas and that some immigration offices may have different rules regarding the application process.
