Miscalculate my travel dates and ended up with one day of overstay on my tourist visa.
Is it better to make a visa run to Laos, pay my overstay fine then cross back? or go to immigration, pay my overstay there and apply for another 30 days there?
Simply put - if facing an overstay fine, is it better to pay at local immigration or border? Does it matter?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing a one-day overstay on their tourist visa in Thailand and is seeking advice on whether to pay the fine at local immigration or make a visa run to Laos. Comments suggest that if the overstay is under 24 hours, the fine may be waived when departing Thailand by air, allowing for a smoother exit without additional steps or fees.
okay, as a general rule IF you have an overstay of under 24 hours and are flying out they waive the 500 baht fine and only write a small note in thai next to your departure stamp saying "overstay under 24 hours fine waived"
Don't worry about it. You'll be okay. No need to go get a 30 day extension for a single day overstay
Have you already used the 30 day extension of stay?
Or are you set to leave Thailand one day late?
Are you flying out ?
If so, then the 500 Thai baht fee is normally WAIVED as you clear Thai immigration on departures. With small stamp noting one day OVERSTAY but fine waived.
