TLDR : Answer Summary
The notification from Bangkok Bank likely concerns the requirement for account holders to register a phone number linked to their name. It’s essential to visit your phone provider to confirm the registration of your phone number under your name and then take that confirmation to the bank along with your passport and bank book. This is part of compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations. Follow the instructions in the notification and seek assistance at the bank if needed; other users have shared similar experiences about this process.
1st go to your phone provider & ask for confirmation of your number. Then take this confirmation to your bank with passport & bank book.

It's just a comment, but I think it's been a long time since you last went to your bank in person, because for any small thing or procedure they usually confirm or ask for your phone number, so they could have had it updated already.

I have a savings account at Bangkok bank, does this affect me too?

I did this last week.
Go the the telco shop with your passport and your SIM card. Register your passport to your sim number. Top up 50B to get a slip of paper that show your name , registered sim number. Bring this slip of paper to the bank with your passport and bank book. Bank will then verify and they say it’s done.

I changed the user at dcac app using template from Passport itself. There is also a control number on whom the sim is registered. If you do it from abroad, roaming must be activated

Simply it is KYC procedure know your customer , you have to visit nearest branch with your passport to get it done won't take a long.
I went through the process a couple of months ago. Get ready for some frustration 😂.
I was asked to provide a printed receipt from the shop I had bought my SIM card from. The receipt also had to show my name and passport number, a handwritten receipt would not do.
I ended up being quite lucky as I had bought the SIM card to comply with the process and the shop were willing to provide what I needed. A week or so later a friend of mine was not so lucky, the same shop said they were no longer supplying printed receipts and he had to go to an AIS shop on the mainland 😂
Eventually everything got sorted but what a ball ache just to change a phone number on a bank account 😂

Went to dtac, they pushed some buttons on my phone, checked something on their web browser, said ‘you’re fine’. Hope I’m done!

Go to the bank and register your phone number. But the phone number must be registered under your name as well. That’s it
Mike *******
I did all of this 2 months ago, and again l got the same message to do it it once more. It's like l never went through all this BS with AIS and the bank 2 months before.

I could do the phone no. check in the Kasikorn App, without having to go to the bank or show AIS slip. Just followed the steps in the settings and done
Jean-Bernard ********
I had the same problem. So i had to go to a shop like ais or true or dtac and so one with my smartphone and passeport and buy a SIM card basic and ask to the shop to confirm your new phone Number then you go to your thai Bank and they will prépare all documents to active it and it’s need a week to confirm by the Bank that everything is ok by goung back to your thai Bank
Dana *******
And, BTW, some people wrote that if the phone number registered in your bank is not in your name, the bank will "close your account and keep the money"... FAKE ! the bank will just suspend the Mobile Banking...
yes they just suspend mobile banking and you can just do banking the old way visiting the branch with your bank book

All bank accounts now need a registered phone number that the phone company has linked to the same name as the account holder. If your bank hasn’t asked for this yet they will.
should have called it mobile banking I guess. Surely you have seen people paying in restaurants, taxis, shops everywhere. Let your phone «see» the QR code (small square with unevenly shaped black dots). Everybody has them. Out of physical cash? You can pay anything by scanning. Easy and all recorded. Just bought an ice cream cone this way. Chocolate. Cheers!
if they use AIS they only have to provide the receipt from the company. I had this problem last month and I went to my banks with the receipt to have it fixed in time. Kasikorn bank has warned the account holders about this 3 months ago
go to the Bank, give them your new number. They have a system there linked with AIS and other telephone companies where they can check wether your phone number associated with mobile banking is in your name, or not
