I am in Thailand on a METV. I can stay 60 days each time.
I entered for the first time on this visa approximately 5 weeks ago. Currently on Samui.
Unfortunately I mixed my dates up and I fly to Vietnam 2 days after I should leave - stupid I know.
My question is, would an overstay of two days look “bad” on my visa/passport which could potentially cause me problems when I come back to Thailand after my month in Vietnam?
Am I better off getting an extension?
Appreciate your comments.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) in Thailand and plans to stay for 60 days each time. Due to a mix-up with dates, they might overstay by two days before traveling to Vietnam. They seek advice on whether this overstay would negatively impact their future visa applications and whether they should consider extending their stay instead.
The way to max your time out here on a 6 month METV is:
get the visa as close to when you're coming here as you can so that you're not burning the validity of the visa down not being here. It's valid for 6 months from the date they issue it not from the date you enter.
Enter get 60 days,
-when that is running out, exit/re-enter get another 60 days
-when that is running out, exit/re-enter get another 60 days
-when the VISA is going to expire, exit/re-enter to get a final 60 days (taking you to almost 8 months)
-extend the last entry by 30 days at the immigration office for 1900baht that takes you to almost 9 months :)
how could you mix your dates up? They STAMP how long you can stay IN your passport :/
Be that as it may, you'd pay 1000baght overstay fine AND have an overstay stamp in your passport (which at this time doesn't hurt you from getting more visas), OR you go get a 30 day extension at the immigration office for 1900baht.
The choice is totally yours;
All I can say is PAY ATTENTION to you entry stamps in the future...
