What should expats do if they notice an error on their visa stamp in Thailand?

Just a caution to everyone to double check their visa stamp. I was near the end of my OA visa multiple entry. Went to Kuala Lumpur last weekend returned on Monday. Immigration officer stamped my passport for only 90 days instead of one year. I showed them my previous stamp from my last trip in February actually gave me a date in 2020, whereas the new stamp was only until the end of 2019. Fortunately she went and checked with someone else and it was rectified. Glad that I double checked after hearing of people accidentally overstaying due to incorrect visa stamps. Probably wouldn't of noticed right away if it were not for others sharing their stories.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user warns expats to double-check their visa stamps after encountering an error upon returning from a trip to Kuala Lumpur. Instead of receiving a year's extension for their multiple-entry OA visa, the immigration officer mistakenly stamped their passport for only 90 days. Fortunately, the error was rectified after confirming with additional staff. The user emphasizes the importance of vigilance, as many have reported overstaying because of incorrect stamps. Other community members shared similar experiences, underscoring the need for personal responsibility regarding passport validity.

many times I am surprised that people, once in Thailand, let their "guard" down, not checking anything. So far many people lucky as Immigration not fine in such cases, but guys it is " YOUR PASSPORT, YOUR RESPONSIBILITY".

Per Rigor Rectum Lundgren I think you should start checking it :\

Ugh! Happened to me and my husband too. We have an O visa and we were stamped with a 30 day visa instead of 1 year. When we went for the 90 day check in, we were over the 30 day stamp. Got it sorted. But a headache.

Not just visa stamps, I did my 90 day report about 4 weeks ago in person (as the online no longer works for me after changing my passport) I took a quick look at the date after i got the report slip back, looked good so went home. Just a few days ago, I checked the slip again just to confirm the next report date, and realised I had suddenly become S************ Choudrey an Indian national. Needless to say another quick trip to immigration was required.

I know. It wasn't a criticism. She was very nice to listen. Reason for the post was to remind others to double check their stamps. I spent 28 years in law enforcement. Not bashing here.
