TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is facing an issue where their O-A visa, which is valid until August, was stamped for only five weeks upon re-entering Thailand, instead of the expected one year. They raised concerns about the potential mistake made at the Suvarnabhumi Airport immigration desk and received various suggestions from the community, such as visiting the immigration office to correct the stamp and ensuring proper communication with the officer at the time of entry.

Copy: no words were exchanged

Copy: they are becoming increasingly unfriendly

An Officer made a mistake, you did not tell, as words were not exchanged. Humans do make mistakes in their life.

Now it is time to solve the problems. Good luck.

Ok...yes I agree...but no words were exchanged , I was there at priority lane with him for ten minutes..no exaggeration, (70 yrs old ), smart, well groomed, smart clothes, he fiddled about and eventually stamped me in ,I didn’t bother checking this time(as I did before and noticed a mistake when they gave me a month back on Oct 30th), because I’m due to leave 28th March till autumn ....I know I shoukd have......the stamp is for

/20 I will post if I can work out how !...it seems to me that even with a proper visa (over the years I’ve had retirement extensions on non o’s and O-A’s(past three ).....that they are becoming increasingly unfriendly .....I mean what does one do,proper visa etc above board, flat in CM and they still treat one like that.....I will go for non o extensions again next time.....but yes do check the entry at counter (as I did way back in Oct when they stamped me in for a month, and then when I pointed it out begrudgingly gave me a year!).....hey maybe just use non priority lanes!

And why didn't you mention to him you hold a valid O-A visa BEFORE you walked away from the counter at passport control?

Post an image of the entry stamp he gave you. There is no 5 week stamp you either get in for a year on the O-A visa or they give you a 30 day visa exempt entry, and you take your proof of insurance to the immigration office and they move the stamp to a year

No nothing said re insurance, my visa issued August 2019 multiple OA so should get a year each entry before August 2020......strange he stamped till 7th April 2020(five weeks)....anyway I am due to leave till autumn on 28th March so I didn’t check this time (normally I do)I looked later......he was friendly ,maybe he didn’t know the system ......

Did you have to show insurance? If so when does that expire?

And now you can make a visit to the Immigration Office stand in line and on your turn show the officer your passport and ask to get the stamp corrected.

Check it directly and tell that their might be a mistake as you have a valid visa would solved the problem directly.
