I just turned 50 in March. I have been putting the required 65k in my Thai bank for the last 6 months. My 30 day extension ends in 2 weeks.

What are my options to get a 90 day Non-Immigrant O visa in a neighboring country??

Thanks for the help..

, I see a visit to the Phuket Immigration office in your near future. I don't think you're gonna get the answers you want from anywhere else BUT them.

The 65k is not from a pension. It is from 2 apartment rentals I have in my home country.

Is this a problem??

as long as it's coming into a thai bank account in your name only each month EVERY month and is at least 65K baht you shouldn't have a problem

I got my "O" at Vientiane no problem. Had the paperwork, and my Thai wife with me. Just looked at my wife, didn't bother talking with her at all just said ALL GOOD...Come back tomorrow.. I never started having any problems until I used a visa service to get my first 12 month extension. They did it at Roi Et, even though they knew, and had my BKK condo lease agreements address etc...They did two subsequent 90 day reports then stopped providing them. Only found out about the Roi Et registration when I went to CW to do a 90 day report.

alas, the perils of using an agency to "push paper" for you and get your extension of stay. Your FIRST clue that something was amiss was the fact that they only needed your passport. EVERYONE has to go and apply for their yearly extensions in person at their immigration office. :O

And did you get the O visa from Vientiane based on being over 50, submitting a background check, a medical certificate, showing proof of funds, and a letter from your consulate stating you're retired, OR did you get that 90 day Non-O visa in Vientiane based on marriage to a thai?

You need to be registered before, copy of renting contract ( with copy of ID card of the owner , same as for the registration ) or leasing registry from the land office,

Copy pages passport, of the visa , departure card , 2 pictures.

You can let check it from the very helpful. And friendly volunteers there.

If you have more then 15 days , the office in phuket town is easy then for you....as it is the first time ...the 65 k is not important.they just want to know where it comes from, means a letter of ..or put 800 k on an account and get a letter from the bank.....you will get the non o for sure

Did you already burn your two 30 day visa exempt entries by land this year? If you didn't you could bounce out and back to get a new 30 day visa exempt entry and then apply for the in country 90 day Non-O at the immigration office.

There are reports that you can get the 90 day Non-O visa based on being over 50 (retirement) in Penang Malaysia, however I read conflicting reports on whether they will accept proof of monthly income by transfer or want you to show the 800K baht banked (sorry about that).

I'm pretty sure that for the 90 day in country they want to see 800k in your Thai bank and proof it comes from overseas. You would need to top up what's in the bank to that amount I suspect. Then for your annual extension you should be able to use monthly transfer, but may as well use the 800k for the first one

I’ve entered once through hkt and done one border crossing this year at Ranong.

But, I read u have to deposit 65k for 12 months. Since I just turned 50 I’ve only been doing it for the last 6 months.

Is this acceptable?

I would swing by the Phuket Immigration office and see how many days they require you have left on your 30 day visa exempt or 60 day tourist visa entry or a 30 day extension on one of those.

AND check to see how many months they require you to show international transfers of at least 65K baht into a thai bank account in your name only to get the in country 90 day Non-O visa

Sadly it is harder and harder to get a 90 day Non-O visa based on being over 50 in nearby countries.

Where are you in thailand? There could be a chance that you can get a 90 day Non-O visa from the immigration office in your area.
