Hallo friends, two short Question:

1. Our immigration stamp is untill 4.5.19. When adding 30 days of extention do i count the 4th? Will i get until the 2.6 or 3.6?

2. Is it possible to extend the visa in kho samui a few weeks before the final date and still get the full extention?

Thank you in advance,

Tzvika

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has two questions regarding their visa extension in Thailand: 1) They want to know if the count for a 30-day extension should start from the immigration stamp date (4th May) or the day after, which determines whether their extension will last until June 2nd or June 3rd. 2) They ask if it's possible to apply for this extension a few weeks before the visa expiry date and still receive the full extension. The responses confirm that the extension is counted starting the day after the stamp date, meaning they will receive an extra 30 days until June 3rd, and they can apply for the extension early without losing any days.

As I ivan said, its extra 30 days, the date you apply for the extension doesn't matter, the extension starts the day the visa exemption stamp would have expired. So irrespective of extension application date you will have have a full 60 days in Thailand.

Michael thank you, the question is if you count the day of the stamp, or start the day after?

You'll get until 3 June.

For an _extension_, it starts the day after. The _initial entry_ counts the day you enter as the first day (which it is). There is no "double counting" of days with an extension, it is added on the end and you can just "add 30" to your current date.

Feel free for anyone to correct me, but I'm 99.9% you can apply for an extension any put after your first entry... it simply adds an extra 30 days to the end of you visa exempt date.

most offices allow an extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp.

If eligible for an extension...Yes you can extend at local Thai Immigration for 30 days early and not lose days. Are you in Thailand on an Exempt entry of 30 days? What passport nation ?
