We are about to apply for our 30 day extension, it been a few years since we have done one and not sure where we need to go. Is it still in the IT Square Laksi Plaza?
Also, does the 30 days apply from the date on the samp in your passport or is it 30 days from the date you apply? I seem to recall reading here that it's 30 days from the stamp in your passport. Just checking.
Thanks for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the location for applying for a 30-day visa extension in Thailand and whether the extension period begins from the date of the passport stamp or from the application date. Commenters clarify that the location depends on how they entered the country: if on a Tourist Visa, they should go to Chaeng Watthana; if on a visa-exempt entry, they should visit IT Square Laksi Plaza. Additionally, it is noted that the extension period is added to the existing entry stamp's validity.
If you entered on an actual Tourist Visa which you paid before you flew into Thailand and were stamped for 60 days, you are going to go to Chaengwattana Immigration office, Government Complex Building B.
If you entered Thailand without purchasing a visa prior to your travel to Thailand and were stamped in for 30 days, you are going to go to IT Square Laksi Plaza temporary office, just next to Lak Si station on SRT Dark Red Line.
With a Tourist Visa (60 days entry stamp) you go to Chaengwattana - counter J, with Visa Exempt (30 days entry stamp) you go to IT Square Laksi Plaza 3rd floor, counter K.
I reside in Bali and unfortunately I have to fly to Jakarta, Bali consulate does not issue visas anymore. So I’ll do a stamp and extend it with 30 days that’s the cheapest option
If you know you will stay in Thailand 31 - 90 days, apply for a 60 days touristvisa, which can be extended 30 days at Imigration, then you can stay up to 90 days without leaving Thailand.
If you extend from 60 to 90 days, you may need a onward ticket before day 60.
You can apply for a single entry Tourist Visa in most neighbouring countries but it takes at least 2 days (check the Embassy/Consulate websites for details).
