Should I worry about overstaying my visa if I leave Thailand on the same day it is cancelled?

Hi! Iโ€™m seeking for an advice. My school will be cancelling my visa on the 31st of January. My flight going to Europe will be on the same day but 23:50. Should I be worried about overstaying or do I need to apply for an extension? Maybe I am overthinking but I do hope someone can help me out. Thank you so much in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is concerned about overstaying their visa upon cancellation by their school on January 31st while their flight to Europe departs the same day at 23:50. Many responses reassured that as long as they complete immigration before midnight, there should be no issue with overstaying. While overstays can incur fines, a one-day overstay is not typically penalized harshly, but it may still leave a stamp in the passport that could affect future entries into other countries. Therefore, it is generally advised to check in early and keep an eye on immigration processes.

Will be cancelling on 31st or at some point after?

Immigration normally just look at visa for expiry date and on your way if OK.

Unless your visa already expires on 31st, I can't see immigration checking every visa that passes their noses to see if cancelled early.

Anyway, just get through PP control in good time and buy something with 500 baht fine you may have otherwise received.

with like 12 hours overstay you may face life imprisonment or worse.

I am kidding same day is not considered overstay. I think you may have a day maybe two. But the likelihood your cancelled visa will be on record is slim.

Make sure you check in early even if your flight is delayed.

One day late is ok

No charge for it.

Ones happen to me

But it's scary.

Different officer comes and takes you to a room

Write few things on your passport then you go back to the check out again and get stamped.

Nothing to worry

All the best

If you leave on the same day and you go through immigration control before midnight you have no problem.

You can extend your visa but you need to show your plane ticket to the immigration officer better than overstay

You will not be overstaying if your leaving the Country on the same day and you will have well been through Passport Control by then anyway..

You have nothing to be worried or concerned about.

Have a safe Journey.

The cost for overstay is less than the extension. There is no other penalty than the financial fine for a short overstay (you won't be banned from returning). In this case no reason to bother with extension

you're completely wrong. Fine is 500 baht a day and unless you grossly overstay it doesn't even affect return to Thailand lol. Much less any other country.

Dont be a dickhead. You get an overstay stamp in your passport for 1 day. No fine but it can affect entries to other Countries. FFS! It's not rocket science. How stupid are you?

No problem at the Thai border. Many countries will deny you entry with an overstay stamp. Wake up and stop giving bad advice.

Iโ€™ve overstayed by a day a couple of times, no problems just a warning and a comment in your passport. They can fine you bht 500 per day but not likely to do so for 1 day.

As long as you pass immigration before 11:59pm on the day your stamp expires you should be fine.
