Morning everyone, here is my question for you : is it true that we can ask to extend any visa for 30 days? I'm on a student visa expiring in September and it would be more comfortable for me to have an extra 30 days to switch it into a business visa... You see? Thanks for your support and have a good day, Amandine.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Amandine inquired about the possibility of extending her student visa by 30 days to facilitate a transition to a business visa. Responses clarified that extensions are generally applicable to visa exempt, tourist visas, or visas on arrival, and that specific documentation is required, such as a letter from an embassy or a doctor's note. It was also suggested that Amandine focus on the process to switch her visa type rather than the extension.
You need to request a letter from your embassy saying that you can't return back to your country OR that there's an outbreak of COVID-19. IF the embassy grants the letter, then you'll submit it to immigration. Immigration will review the letter, and either accept or deny your request.
IF they accept your request, another month will be added, and you can leave around October 20th.
IF they deny your request, you will have to leave no later than September 20th.
The extension fee is 1,900 THB.
To my knowledge, Canada, Aus, and the USA are *NOT* issuing those letters. NZ *IS* Issuing those letters, but not being accepted by immigration.
Please review the first section of the attached flyer for more information
you'll probably need a copy of your data page, your visa (or visa exampt stamp), a copy of your departure card, and two passport photos. It will cost 1,900 THB.
If you apply for this extension, please let us know what happens
Maybe asking the wrong question. Ask how to change from your current visa to the one you want. Skip over the 30 day thing since it doesn't appear to apply to you
