TLDR : Answer Summary
When changing jobs in Thailand while holding a non-B visa and work permit, you must cancel your current visa and work permit on your last employment day. Your new employer will need to meet certain requirements to apply for a new extension of stay.

I guess you visited Immigration with lots of documents from your employer and got a new stamp with the text:

Extension of Stay is permitted up to xx/xx/xx (date)

You have to cancel this stay and your work permit, using the last day of employment with your current employer.

The new employer needs to meet the requirements to apply with you for a new Extension of Stay.
