Hi Todd and all, 

A friend of mine arrives in Thailand with 14 days visa and he's now admitted to Phaya Thai 3 Hospital for medical reasons. The hospital has provided him with the letter to extend his visa for another 30 days or 60 days. 

Which is the best way to extend his stay now?

Take the doctors and hospitals medical certificate requesting an extension of stay for medical reasons to the Thai immigration office along with his passport and 1900 Thai baht.

The decision to grant the extension is that of the Thai immigration office.
