Answer summary
To obtain a one-month extension of stay in Thailand due to medical reasons, you need to get a letter from the hospital indicating that you are unable to fly. The hospital will assist you in coordinating with the immigration office for the extension. The fee for this extension is 1,900 THB.

I imagine this question will be coming up frequently, so I’m going to post it and close comments. To get a one month extension of stay based on medical reasons, you’ll contact the hospital thats treating you for your illness. They will work with the immigration office on getting that extension of stay for you. The hospitals know the process. The cost for this extension of stay is 1,900 THB.
