The daughter is visiting from the US on a 60 tourist visa. She got hit by a truck and is in the hospital. How do I go about getting a “medical” extension? Or what needs to be done to keep her from over stay? No way will she be leaving Thailand any time soon.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To secure a medical extension for your daughter who is currently hospitalized in Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa, you should first obtain a letter from the hospital confirming that she is unable to travel due to medical reasons. This letter, along with her passport, can then be taken to the immigration office. Typically, immigration may grant an extension of stay for medical reasons for up to 90 days. It's advisable to consult with the hospital staff regarding any necessary paperwork, and it may also help if she has already received a regular extension on her tourist visa since entering Thailand.

When my dad was on a ventilator in a coma, Bangkok Hospital's concierge arranged for immigration to come down and take pictures of my dad, filled out the forms, and arranged for the relevant documentation from his doctor. The fee was 4.000,- (1.900,- for the immigration's extension fee and 2.100,- for the hospital's service). A great service, which made it possible for me to stay by his bedside in case his condition were to deteriorate, rather than wasting a day at immigration.

Talk to hospital admin. When I had my motorcycle accident they did it for me. Actually had an immigration officer on the hospital. Took me down to see them. Hospital did all the paper work and I picked up next day from same place. They didn’t do until a few days before expiration

talk to the hospital about getting a paper saying she is an in patient and then take it, her passport, (your passport too) and go to the immigration office and see if they'll give her a medical extension (it can be granted for UP TO 90 days but usually they do it for 30 to 60)

Did she already get her "regular" 30 day extension on the 60 day tourist visa entry? they might require you get that for her before they issue a medical extension.

Talk to the hospital staff and get a letter that she is unable to travel based on medical reasons, with that letter and her passport you can apply in her name for the Extension of Stay, with a maximum of 90 days at the time.

Hope she get well soon.
