Hello, any advice please on how I get a medical visa. I am inside Thailand (phucket/phang nga) and having major treatment until at least September. Then need follow ups the rest of the year .

I have been treated in Thailand since May already, have a lot of paperwork. I am in hospital 6 days a month.

What official paperwork do it need, and where do I go with it?

My non b has expired so think this is my only option.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a medical visa or extension while in Thailand, you need to follow these steps: Since there is no specific medical visa available in Thailand, you can apply for an extension of stay based on medical reasons. First, obtain a letter from your treating physician stating you are unable to travel, which is necessary for the application. You should visit the immigration office to pick up the application form and ask any questions you have regarding the process. Be aware that extensions can be granted for up to 90 days at a time. Given the current amnesty running until September 26, 2020, it is advisable to wait until closer to the end of this period to submit your application, which may then start from September 27.

okay first off there is NO medical VISA available inside thailand :O What there is, is a extension of stay based on medical reasons AND those can be granted for up to 90 days at a time. You get a letter from the treating physician stating you are unable to travel and take it to the immigration office and they will decide how long of an extension to give you *(up to 90 days).

I wouldn't waste the time or effort getting a medical extension now seeing as this new amnesty (that started on Aug 1st) runs until the 26th of Sept. Wait until closer to the current amnesty running out and then take the letter to the immigration office. IF they grant you an extension it will be dated as starting the day AFTER the amnesty ends (so your extension would start on Sept 27th)

you get your doctor to write you a letter. the applications can be picked up from the immigration office and they can answer any questions you have.

you don’t need a lawyer.
