Good morning โ๏ธ
Iโm sure, I will get the right answer here with all the knowledge and experts ๐๐ป๐
* Iโm on a Extension of stay based on employment with a Workpermit. My family is here as my dependants.
* My contract will end mid July
* I may have a new Job here in Thailand starting in September/October onwards
* Together with my current HR we are preparing the whole process, as the end of contract falls into the summer break of school and family would like to spend the summer back home in Europe
* HR will accompany us, with a letter from the company stating my last day of work, to the labour department to cancel my work permit. Then with the receipt we will go to immigration for the cancellation of our extension of stays. We should get stamped to being permitted to stay until the last day of work mid July. Correct?
* This all is said to can be done up to 21 days prior to the last working day, in our case end of June correct?
So far so good :-)
* There is no issue for us and we donโt have to do anything further if we are heading to Europe beginning of July, as before the end date. Correct?
* When traveling back to Thailand say mid/end of August either with a Tourist-Visa or an Visa exempt is normally not a problem and weโll go from there for a next job.
* Best case scenario, the new Job in line before/during summer break. Applying for a Non-B Visa (Non-O for my family) in Europe should also work if all necessary documents are on hand. This could be done anytime after the stamped end date. Correct?
Are my researchers and thoughts all together or am I missing something important?
Thank you very much for helping me get some peace for my mind ๐ Have a good weekend โ๏ธ
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is preparing to cancel their extension of stay based on employment in Thailand before a planned trip to Europe. They will go through the process with their HR to cancel their work permit and extension of stay, ensuring they are permitted to stay until their last working day in mid-July. They seek confirmation about the timeline for cancellation, traveling to Europe, and re-entering Thailand with a tourist visa or applying for a Non-B visa for a new job. A commenter agrees with the plan but suggests verifying with immigration if a 21-day early cancellation is permissible.
