Hi! Thank you for the time, I really do not know if it is very specific what I need to know.I have work permit valid until July, with visa extension until January 2020, the thing is that I am going to resign from my job at the end of May, What I do know is that if I resigned my working permit is canceled therefore my visa extension also and I want to leave Thailand (in reality what I want is to stay as a tourist), is it possible? Cancel my work permit - leave thailand (I will go to Vientiane ) return as a tourist with a runn visa? Would it have some kind of problem? Has someone renounced a work permit, left Thailand and re-entered as a tourist?

Get a letter from your employer that you stop working xxx date. Go about 2 weeks before that to the Ministry Of Labor to cancel on the day mentioned in the letter your Work Permit, with documents from them you visit your local Immigration Office and cancel your Extension of Stay on the date mentioned in the letter. Immigration will change your permitted up to date. On or before your last new permitted up to date you leave the country and can apply for a Tourist Visa and come back into Thailand.

Get the paper from your employer that your last day is 28th May. Go between 14 and 25 to Immigration to cancel your Extension of Stay on day 28th May. Than you can just leave on day 28th.

thanks! the last question, if I have all my paper, work permit canceled everything ready, I go to the immigration to cancelled the extension I need leave the country this day? I need extension 7 days obligatory? O you said I can leave when I want? I need to.know because I go to Laos 28 of May, when you recommend go to immigration? Thanks you very much

You go about 2 weeks before you stop working to cancel in advance. If you wait till the last day it means or you have to leave the country directly after the Extension of Stay get cancelled or you apply for a new Extension of Stay, cost 1.900 Thb which will get not approved but gives you 7 days to leave the country.
