What options do I have regarding my work permit and visa in Thailand, considering my contract ends before my work permit expires?

Hi all, thank you for accepting me in your group. I joined because i have a very current question. At present i have a job in thailand and i have a valid work permit and a visa categorie b. After first 4 years and now 2 years, my contract will end on september 30th and we have decided to move on to another job, either here in thailand or else where. If i am not wrong, my work permit will be canceled on my last working day - 30th september, and immigration will then also cancel my visa valid until november (and those of my family), and i will have 24 hours to leave the country or extend for 7 days for a fee, and then come back on a tourist visa for the time being. We will take a family time out and will be traveling around. I have a family and to clear everything takes a little time. My problem at the moment: my work permit will expire on september 27th, so before my last day of work. As i will still be working, to leave the country 7 days after the 27th is way too short of time to clear everything. Company of course says there is no other way, as they would have to pay for an extension (is this even possible?) Do i actually have another option? Maybe somebody has experience in this and can offer some advice? Thank you very much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in Thailand on a work permit and a B visa, which will end as their job contract concludes. They are concerned about their work permit expiring before their last working day and are seeking options to extend their stay or navigate the visa situation for their family, as they plan to travel after their contract ends.
