How should I manage my non-immigrant work visa and work permit in Thailand before leaving in April?

Hi, I have a non-imm work visa which I have to reapply for extension of stay every 3month and then reapply for a new visa abroad after 365 days. I am resigning from my job and going back to Europe in April. My current extension is until 7 April but my flight is 27 April. Should I ask my employer to give me a resignation letter dated end of April, then extend once more at Chaeng Wattana at the end of March, get 1 month extension and then cancel the WP and visa just before I leave Bangkok? Do I have to cancel my visa even though I don't have a 1year extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is contemplating how to handle their non-immigrant work visa and work permit as they plan to resign and leave Thailand. They currently have a visa extension until April 7th and a flight out on April 27th. Suggestions from the community include requesting a resignation letter dated for their departure date, applying for a one-month extension at Chaeng Wattana, and ensuring their work permit is canceled upon leaving.

I would say get your employer to write a letter stating you are leaving work on the day you're flying out of the country. Take the same documentation to the immigration office you always do and they will cancel your current extension and give you until that date to get out of the country.

Also cancel your work permit.

I'll do the 30 days extension in the end of March and when I go back in April I bring the letter stating I am quitting, and also bring the copy of my flight ticket out of Thailand.

@Kris****
, bring the letter stating you will quit working on the 27th, they should give you an extension canceled stamp that lets you stay until then.

, seeing as you get 30 days then go back for the other 60 days I'd say wait until you go for your next extension and get them to just stamp you in until the 27th.

I should bring that letter when I go on the 7th of April or go earlier (end of March)?

I get 1month extension(pay1900baht at counter N1 at Chaeng Wattana ), return after 1 month and get 2months (at counter N2 at Chaeng Wattana). Then I repeat the procedure. I only pay 1900 every 3rd month. After 1 year I have to leave the country and reapply for non-imm visa. I have done this for 4 years. I work for a Thai NGO

ahhh, okay. got it

Are you sure you go to the immigration office every 90 days and pay 1900baht to get another 90 day extension? If so it'd be the first time I've ever heard an extension based on employment work that way

You do for Non-immigrant F visas, though he mentioned he has a work permit which I don't think you get on those.

I think you mean you have a 1 year Non Immigrant B visa which gives you 90 days of Admitted to Stay on each entry into Thailand. Every 90 days you go to the border to get a new 90 day Admitted to Stay, these are not Extensions. On this type of visa you can not get 30 day Extension of Stay at local Immigration.
