What is the process for 90-day reporting when frequently entering and leaving Thailand?

Information for those confused about 90 day reporting when you duck in/out of Thailand regularly. Immigration official in Hatyai confirmed to me that the 90 day clock restarts every time to come back into the country.

So, if you travel in/out regularly then you don't need to report at all.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day reporting requirement for expats in Thailand restarts with each re-entry into the country. If you frequently travel in and out, you do not need to report unless you stay beyond 90 cumulative days. Comments from users clarify that the TM30, which must be reported by the owner of the accommodation or the expat, applies regardless of the type of visa. While some users noted confusion over reporting regulations, the consensus remains that those on long-term visas, such as retirement or marriage visas, need to adhere to these reporting requirements.

Wasn't easy to get information on the www about how 90 day reporting works. My visa agent was not very helpful either. Now it all makes sense. If you stay 90 'consecutive' days then you have to report in.
Metty *******
You can do it on line

If you own your condo do you have to do a tm30 apon arrival? With in 24 hrs..

The hardest thing is to remember when to report. Time seems to slip by in Thailand
Jesper *******
@Gary ***********
you just login to the immigration website and create a acct as the owner of the condo and do it yourself
Gary ************

And you have to report physically as it is considered your first 90 reporting in Thailand. Otherwise you can report on the web
Graham ******
@Yvan *********
Report in person also includes by mail if posted 15 days before the due date
Rob **********
That is the way it has always worked, don’t know why people are confused, it’s really pretty straightforward.

@Rob *********
Exactly; common knowledge. If you can't figure this out.... 😮
Jordan *******
I don’t report on my DTV and I stay for 180 days
Jesper *******
@Jordan ******
even on dtv u still need to do 90days report if you are staying longer den 90days...
Jordan *******
@Jesper ******
well I didn’t?
Clare **********
@Jordan ******
unfortunately you will have to pay a fine at immigration for non report of 90 days even on the DTV.
Jordan *******
@Clare *********
that’s funny because I left Thailand and had no issues

Jesper *******
@Jordan ******

Is anyone worried about a stamp-crowded passport? I know when it comes visa time, we need multiple blank pages.
Jesper *******
@Joey *******
my yearly extensions of the nonO and re entry permit is always on the same page so I use only one page per extension
Khid *****
I confused abt tm30 not 90days rpt
Jesper *******
@Khid ****
tm30 is a report made to immigration by the owner of the place you are staying in thailand it maybe your hotel, condo, apartments..etc..
Suzene *****
I am very confused. Is it not just back to 30 days now? What is the passport really?
Graham ******
@Suzene ****
Visa Exempt entry is still a 60 days entry on arrival
Mel ******
@Suzene ****
90-day reporting is for those of us on long-term visa. For example, my visa and extensions is the age 50+ nonO retirement visa. My extensions allow me to stay in the country for an entire year if I choose to do so. The 90-day reporting has nothing to do with those people that are just tourists.
Marianne ********
@Suzene ****
What are you confused about?
Jesper *******
Yes the very reason it's called 90days report is if you are staying in thailand for more den 90days once u travel back into thailand it starts at day01
Cruise ******
@Jesper ******
so if you are here on the given 60days , you do not need to report?
Jesper *******
@Cruise *****
correct u dont
Cruise ******
@Jesper ******
why does fellow user
@Istvan ********
say Yes you must even though it is 60days stay? Confused now..
Jesper *******
@Cruise *****
90days report are for those who stays in thailand for more den 90days usually holding DTV marriage or retirement visas...

Tony *********
@Barry *********
only if you are going to deal with immigration for an extension.
Istvan *********
@Barry *********
Yes, doesn't matter whether you stay with friends, a girlfriend, etc You or they have to do a maximum of 24 hours after arrival because the person you stay with can get fined 6000 baht..
Cruise ******
@Istvan ********
but he's staying only 60days

Still have to report?
Graham ******
@Cruise *****
Technically no as he will not use Immigration services
Cruise ******
@Istvan ********
just submit online or have to physically go to immigration office to do this?
Graham ******
@Istvan ********
I've never heard of anyone getting a 6k fine, it's normally 800B or sometimes 1600B
Istvan *********
@Graham *****
Just because you never heard doesn't mean it doesn't exist 😉 But possibly in this case the immigration made a mistake because for a private owner the fine is up to 2000 baht and up to
*****
for hotels!
Tim *********
It’s pretty simple. You stay 90+ days you have to advise the government where you are. Regardless of any visa.
Steve *******
Well known information, but a refresher for newcomers doesn't hurt 👌
