If I exit and re enter the country before the 1st 90 days…..

I am correct in thinking it resets so I don’t have to report my address for another 90 days ?

I didn’t register my address yet but I exited the country around 70 day mark

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you exit Thailand before reaching 90 consecutive days in the country, the 90-day reporting requirement resets, meaning you do not have to report your address or presence for another 90 days. The TM30 form for address reporting is separate from the TM47 form required for the 90-day reporting.

you are correct, if you do not stay more than 89 days then you DO NOT report to anyone for anything, and YES it will reset your clock back to 0...

You are required in file your address through the TM30 within 24 hours of arriving in Thailand.

Visa holders can’t complete the TM30–hotels and landlords are required to do this.

No you're not. You get stamped on for 180 days, and need to report after 90 days if there consecutively, but no need to report after arrival.

The visa holder does not report the TM30 but hotel, landlords or agents have to. It is the visa holder who will get fined. It is needed for 90 days reports in most offices and for an extension if you are applying for one in country

The TM30 (Address reporting) and the TM47 (90 day reporting) are two completely different requirements. TM30 is required within 24 hours of arriving at a new address. TM47 required after 90 consecutive days in the country. The 90 Days resets if you leave and re-enter.

so the TM30 doesn’t reset? I rented a condo for one year and the owner reported my stay for the whole year, even though I’m technically not allowed to stay the full year because of the nature of the DTV

Some Immigration Offices require you to reregister the TM30 if you have travelled outside of the country. Some do not. Some change their minds every few weeks if they do or not. You need to check your local requirements. When I did need to reregister I went to the office and filled out the form myself as I was returning to same address. Next time I went they told me no need if same address. Sorry I cannot give a definitive answer as things like this are a moving target. As for renting for a full year on DTV no issue. You could rent for a full year on a 30 day Visa Exempt - I did

thanks that helps

Just check local requirements and you will be fine. An agent will be able to tell you even if you just enquire about services. Good luck

The 90 day report is not for reporting your address, it's for reporting your presence inside Thailand for 90 consecutive days. Reporting your address is the responsibility of the place where you stay using a TM30 form (although it's often you that suffers if they don't)

I think so yes...resets my understanding anyway
