So can someone explain the 90 day report? I thought it’s 180 days? What are you supposed to do at the 90 day mark?

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, expats must file a 90-day report (TM47) at their local immigration office, where their TM30 is registered. This report is required every 90 days when holding a long-stay visa, except for the LTR visa. The 90-day reporting does not affect the initial 180 days allowed on a DTV stamp. If you leave Thailand before the 90 days are up and return, the requirement is reset, meaning you do not need to file if you haven't been in the country for 90 consecutive days.

Hi so if you're not in Thailand for that 90 days you don't need to do it? Like if you are leaving for a wedding another country for a holiday a birthday...... say a holiday you were in Thailand for 2 months go away for a month then come back. Does it always reset when you go out

It's a simple report you submit every consecutive 90 days you are in TH. At the 90 day mark you submit the 90 day report.

You go to the Thai immigration where your TM30 is registered and file the TM47- 90 day report. It doesn't affect the time you are allowed in Thailand which is 180 days on a DTV stamp. All long stay visas, except the LTR, requires the visa holder to report where they are every 90 days. After you successfully file the first one, you can do them online. Numerous posts about it today

and for DTV normally every 90 day report is the first unless you extend a stay at immigration, so every stay longer than 90 days you have to file the first report in person.

figured that was fairly obvious and didn't need mentioned but yes, you are correct.

I heard some people thought only the very first time it had to be done in person, and in a subsequent stay it could be done online.

BOI Smart Visas do not have to do it either. Once per year for those too :-) I was just reading out the benefits from their website this morning to a pal. Encouraging him that he needs BOI S and not DTV
