TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent reports indicate a de-escalation in tensions between Thailand and Cambodia, with both sides withdrawing troops and engaging in peace talks scheduled for June 14th in Phnom Penh. Border posts have experienced reduced hours and cross-border travel has been affected, with Thai and Cambodian citizens now receiving only 7-day stay permits instead of the usual 60 days. Despite historical tensions, there are calming signs; local communities near the border are reassured by ongoing discussions, and trade remains important for both nations. Lists of comments include humorous exchanges, concerns about travel uncertainties, and statements expressing hope for long-term peace.

I saw a clip of the prime minister saying she spoke to the head of Cambodia and they are resolving it peacefully. They are keeping borders open because local people trade with each other.

Friends an Family’s very close to the border have been told there’s no need to worry or leave their homes 🏡, so villagers very close by are happy that both sides are talking and have calmed down!

Same as it's been for all the border clashes in the last 20 ,drunk soldiers get nationalistic ,someone gets shot ,Khmers take this social media shouting about the re birth of the Khmer empire and death to Thailand ,Thailand threatens border closures ,Khmers realise they will have to rely on Vietnam for life supplies and go hand in cap to Thailand for peace talks 😂🤣and it's all over till the next drink fueled soldier clash in two years time

only last twenty years ,before that the khmers were still ruined from there own occupation first ,then there liberators the Vietnamese ,I lived there 2004 till 2018 and the first real border problem of any magnitude was 2008 and then 2011,Cambodia was relying heavily on Thai aid back then building roads and bridges ,which Thailand was doing for trade ,as Cambodia couldn't exist without Thai products .

It's just a border dispute as long as you are not near the border life is as usual. There is deescalation mechanism amongst ASEAN countries.

I think no current direct conflict with both sides withdrawing back to previous locations.

Talks to take place on June 14th in Phnom Penh

Some border posts near the disputed area closed and others on reduced opening hours leading to delays crossing
