Has anyone tried or knows if it's possible to do a...well let's say for example the max time you can stay in the country is 120 days....but does that mean you as a person or under that passport? If you have multiple passports, then is it possible to max out one and come back on another? Lol

Thanks for all your answers. I did presume about the whole biometrics thing. Naturally even if I had 2 passports, I wouldn't try it anywhere. Live long and prosper :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether a person can exploit having multiple passports to circumvent the maximum stay duration in Thailand (e.g., 120 days). Several comments highlight that while it may be technically possible to leave and re-enter on a different passport, immigration authorities use biometrics that link passports, making such attempts dubious and likely to attract suspicion. The consensus is that trying to bypass established immigration rules can lead to significant scrutiny and delays, and that a proper long-term visa is recommended instead.

EL JAMES SHOWE.....The fact that Thai government has instructed Thai immigration to tighten up their role as gatekeepers to the Kingdom, is precisely for people like you. There have been no new major laws passed regarding immigration as many farang claim, all that is happening is that immigration are actually having to do their job and adhere to their position as civil servants and carry out their duties to the letter of the law.

You and many other people who treat Thailand like a game with various cheat codes are now subjecting everyone who plays by the rules untold amounts of delay and frustration.

These types of Facebook/internet groups are constantly monitored by government interns looking for shady farangs searching for ways to circumvent the system. I hope they're waiting for you El James Showe on your next visit. Or better still, go to Scambodia, I'm sure you'll fit in well there. πŸ™πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡πŸ™

This guy wants to live in Thailand without going through usual channels, it’s exactly why Thailand tightened the immigration rules

The immigration office still knows who you’re because they have your face and fingerprints.

When you put your fingers on the scanner, they'll see everything. And the first thing they'll ask is why you're using a different passport and they'll immediately be suspicious.

Sure you can leave and come back on a different passport but why would you? Your passports are linked and you have to provide biometrics on entry. There's nothing to be gained.

When entering Thai, my wife and our daughter use their Thai passport. I use my Australian passport and go along with them.

When my daughter enters Australia, she uses her Australian passport. To depart Japan to Australia, my daughter uses her Aus passport. No visa questions. She is an Australian.
