Hi Everyone. I am a Canadian citizen currently on a non-b visa (I was teaching English for one school year). My visa is set to expire on March 31st. I'm not quite ready to go home yet and my question is if I leave the country and go to Malaysia, will I be able to return to Thailand ? Does anyone know if I will be quarantined and/or do I need any kind of health certificate to return back to Thailand from Malaysia?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Canadian citizen on a non-B visa, set to expire on March 31st, inquires about the possibility of leaving Thailand for Malaysia and returning without quarantine or health certificate requirements. Responses indicate that under current COVID-19 conditions, travel regulations are fluid, and it’s suggested to monitor updates closely. It's recommended to have a valid visa upon return, and obtaining a new visa might be easier from Vientiane.

1. Are you currently working, or did you separate from your job already. If you have separated, you need to leave now. If you are cancelling your extension of stay on March 31, you'll be fine

2.the COVID-19 virus is fluid and things are changing all the time. If you get a valid visa, you should be allowed to return.

3. I believe Vientiane would be the best place for you to get another tourist visa, but if not, most consulates should be fine

If you have a higher temperature or fever and have the symptoms of sickness I hope you visit a hospital. If that means you need to stay there please respect the decision of the doctors, good luck.
