After reading about 18 dozen webpages, I am surprisingly confused about the proper Thai immigration procedure for changing one's address. I'm sure I'm the first.
I'm moving from one place to another in Chiang Mai city. The majority of websites suggest I need:
TM28
TM30
Passport photocopies
Lease photocopies
However other people say the TM28 is no longer needed, others say you do it all online, etc.
Anyone had recent experience?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process of changing your address with Thai immigration can be confusing, especially with varying information found online. Generally, you will need to submit a TM30 form, which your landlord is responsible for, along with your passport and lease photocopies. However, some recent experiences suggest that the TM28 form may not be required at all, and that many immigration offices have different requirements. It's advisable to contact the Chiang Mai immigration office directly to confirm their specific requirements.

I have done this many times in Buriram.
I know itβs always immigration office dependent.
As soon as you move just take the new paperwork and passport to the immigration office. They will have your old address on there system. You tell them you have moved and this is your new address. Effectively you are doing your own TM30 in person.
I mean just changed condo. Big I went to immigration today and they just said "No need to do anything. Just bring your new TM30 at your next 90 day." So, it's all over. Thanks for your time!
Ah ok. And what is that paperwork that you bring them in Buriram? I'm going to immigration in Chiang Mai today, but I don't know what they want. One website says every day I'm late it's a 200 baht fine, but π€·ββοΈ
for me when this happened during my 90day in person report: The immigration officer phones the landlord right in front of me, warns them an officer will visit if they don't get the form ASAP, and warns that a large fine is pending if anything delays it or if it happens again.
