After reading about 18 dozen webpages, I am surprisingly confused about the proper Thai immigration procedure for changing one's address. I'm sure I'm the first.

I'm moving from one place to another in Chiang Mai city. The majority of websites suggest I need:

TM28

TM30

Passport photocopies

Lease photocopies

However other people say the TM28 is no longer needed, others say you do it all online, etc.

Anyone had recent experience?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process of changing your address with Thai immigration can be confusing, especially with varying information found online. Generally, you will need to submit a TM30 form, which your landlord is responsible for, along with your passport and lease photocopies. However, some recent experiences suggest that the TM28 form may not be required at all, and that many immigration offices have different requirements. It's advisable to contact the Chiang Mai immigration office directly to confirm their specific requirements.

I am the landlord, I own property, condo.

Where here the hack i get someone for that tm 30?

, Access the Immigration Bureau web page, then click the "Notifications of residence for foreigners" graphic icon.

Read the pop-up well, then go to the TM.30 web system.

Once you've gone through these, go to the system by the second link below.

Or go to the local immigration office, bringing all ID and property-related documents.

I have done this many times in Buriram.

I know it’s always immigration office dependent.

As soon as you move just take the new paperwork and passport to the immigration office. They will have your old address on there system. You tell them you have moved and this is your new address. Effectively you are doing your own TM30 in person.

I mean just changed condo. Big I went to immigration today and they just said "No need to do anything. Just bring your new TM30 at your next 90 day." So, it's all over. Thanks for your time!

My first TM30 would be the last. Never heard of TM30 until here. 25 years going to Thai.

Where you can get that form?

@Gethin ******
thank you. So you're saying you have your TM30, and all the other paperwork, and youre submitting all of it?

In Buriram I just take my new paperwork with passport and tell them I have moved.

A TM30 is just letting Thai immigration know where you are staying/living.

You are basically filing a new TM30 by taking them your new paperwork.

Ah ok. And what is that paperwork that you bring them in Buriram? I'm going to immigration in Chiang Mai today, but I don't know what they want. One website says every day I'm late it's a 200 baht fine, but πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

It’s not actually clear when you say you have changed address.

Is it because a Thai partner has bought a new house.

If you rent a house,condo etc etc you just take the rental agreement with you.

for me when this happened during my 90day in person report: The immigration officer phones the landlord right in front of me, warns them an officer will visit if they don't get the form ASAP, and warns that a large fine is pending if anything delays it or if it happens again.

@Paul *****
seen this happen in jomtien

@Paul *****
that's nice of the Thai Immigration Officer to have done that...

But it is a rare happening in Thai Immigration offices.

Few Immigration Offices now require the TM28 so check with yours

It's always best to ask the Chiang Mai Thai Immigration office for their requirements for your change of address.

The following is the AI description of the requirements for changing your address registration with a Thai Immigration office in Chiang Mai.

Yes you're right. They said I didn't need to do anything. Just bring the TM30 to the next 90 day report. Done and done!
