I need to get another 30 days on my current visa in Bangkok. Can anyone please tell me the best way to do this.Go to the embassy or go across the border for the day? Thanks

Answer summary

To extend your visa by an additional 30 days in Bangkok, you have two main options: visiting an embassy or making a brief trip across the border. The expiration of your visa typically means it is valid until the end of the day before its stated expiry date.

It's over at 11:59 PM on the 12th. At midnight it's already the 13th.

Then if you wanted another 30 days you will have to do a border run

No, but you can only do border run for Visa Exempt Entry twice a year. If you like to stay long in Thailand it is the best thing to avoid border runs.

Thanks Robert. Is it also an option to go to the Cambodian border or is that a more difficult choice?

30 day tourist visa does not exist, I think you mean a 30 day Visa Exempt Entry (entry without a Visa). You can apply for Extension of Stay once for 30 days at local Immigration office for 1.900 Thb.
