Hi guys, I just tried to book a COVID extension appointment at MTT counter K. However I can only book appointments close around the expiration date of my current visa. There's no option to change to January or any other month. Does anyone know how to get around this?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is trying to book a COVID extension appointment for their TR60 visa but can only schedule appointments close to the expiration date. Other users share insights about visa expiration dates, the processing of extensions at immigration offices, and requirements for obtaining an extension of stay due to COVID-19. Some suggest trying to visit the immigration office directly or waiting for the appointment booking system to allow future dates.

I don't see the point in keeping this post open. You can either:

1. Walk into the immigration office and see what they say, or;

2. Wait for the appointment queue to open (per Tod Daniell's response).

The requirements to get the Extension of Stay based on Unable to Travel due to COVID-19 is as follows:

Different immigration offices have different requirements, but all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms)

4. A letter from your embassy saying you can not return, OR a print out from your embassy saying they don’t issue the letters OR a letter from your embassy saying they don't issue the letter.

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB.

Different immigration offices have different policies. *SOME* may require:

- The ID card of the property owner where you are staying

- Copies of *ALL* stamped pages in your passport

Hi guys, I'm here on a TR60 that expires in mid March

MOST immigration offices are requiring you to get a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism before applying for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. In most immigration offices, you can only apply for an extension of stay when there's 30 days or less left on your current stamp.

@Benjamin *****
I already have the 30 extra days

@Josha ****
But 30 days before mid march (let's say March 15) is February 13. The last day they are selling the Extension of Stay due to Unable to Travel because of COVID-19 is January 29 (AS OF RIGHT NOW). I don't know if the immigration office will sell it to you.

The only option is to simply try to get the extension of stay

But before that I must figure out first how to book the appointment :D

Yeah I guess I just have to give it a shot and see what happens...

It's been like that all week, I think it will "click over" and let people make bookings next month on Monday. It's only like that on the TR60 and the visa exempt extensions from what I can see, I could make a booking for next month on retirement no problem..

What visa are you on now?
Benjamin ******
What visa did you use to enter Thailand? I'm guessing your current visa expires sometime in March, correct?

For the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, *AT MOST IMMIGRATION OFFICES*, the time for the extension starts on the day you receive the extension. You *MAY BE* losing time if you get the extension of stay now, if your current stay expires in March.

If you can't make an appointment, but want to try your luck, just walk into MTT and see what they say.

So I asked the embassy for it but I'm not very optimistic that they'll do it

And they said I would need a letter from the German embassy saying that they recommend staying in Thailand due to the COVID situation in Germany

I talked to two immigration officers yesterday and they both said they would add the 60 days at the end of my current 90 days. But yeah it's Thailand. You never know whats actually gonna happen...

@Josha ****
So if you talked to two immigration officers yesterday about it, why didn't you apply and get the extension of stay? Why did you say no?
