TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about their friend's visa situation, which is set to expire soon after arriving in Thailand. Several commenters advised against a trip to Laos, suggesting instead that she should visit a local immigration office to apply for a 30-day extension for 1900 baht. It was clarified that her current status is based on a 30-day visa exemption, rather than a one-month visa as she initially thought.

Go to your local immigration office and pay 1900 baht for a 30 day extension. There's no need to go Laos if it's her first month in Thailand

There is no such thing as a one month visa :/

That means she got in on what is called a 30 day visa exempt entry.

AND

she can go to the immigration office and get a 30 day extension on that 30 day stamp for 1900baht at the immigration office in the area where she stays.
