What are my visa options for a 95-day stay in Thailand?

Hello and thanks for the add.

My wife and I are traveling to Thailand in June and are hoping to stay for 3 months. The tourist visa I've looked up covers us for 60 days and then we can apply for an extension for 30.

With what we have planned for the next part of our trip after leaving Thailand, we would need to spend 95 days in the country.

Just wondering what our options are and looking for any advice!

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A couple traveling to Thailand for 3 months is considering their visa options. They find that the initial tourist visa covers them for 60 days, with a possible 30-day extension. To meet their 95-day requirement, several suggestions are provided: conducting a border run for an additional 30 days, applying for a METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa), and obtaining a single entry tourist visa before travel. The best advice seems to be to secure a single entry tourist visa, extend it by 30 days upon arrival, and then perform a border run to re-enter Thailand for a further 30 days.

So far the best idea is the one offered out by

.

Get a single entry tourist visa from a thai consulate in your country BEFORE you wing your way here

Get stamped in for 60 days when you arrive, extend that by 30 more days once you're here, THEN border bounce <- go to a border, stamp out of thailand, stamp in and out of another country and stamp back into thailand to get a 30 day visa exempt entry.

thanks for that mate. Sounds like the best option!

Why not get an METV then you can go and come back on the same visa.

for just a 95 day stay I'd say a 200US dollar METV is a little much :O BUT it is an idea..

If you could visit a neighboring country by land and return some time around the 75th day, that would save your family a second trip to Immigration and 1900 THB each just for the denial extension.

oh ok that's interesting. I'll have to do some research.

depending on your travel plan, you could do a border hop and get 30day. You could also get another 7 days extension on your 60+30, but it would be a denial of extension, but you can get 60+30+7 out of it.

visa the local Immigration in that area where you will stay, close to the expiration of your 60+30.

thanks for your reply. How do we get the extra 7 on our 60+30? that would be best as we only need 95 days.
