TLDR : Answer Summary
The monthly living cost for a single person in Thailand can vary widely based on location and lifestyle. Estimates in the comments suggest a range from 20,000 THB (around $600) to 100,000 THB or more, depending on the area and individual spending habits. Key factors influencing costs include accommodation, food, health insurance, entertainment, and lifestyle choices such as dining out or traveling.

Impossible too calculate so I can only give you my budget living in bang saray which is between 40-45k baht a month. But that's just living expenses such as rent, utilities, food, sundries, internet, bike fuel (own my own bike).
David *********
Here we go again ..
So ( as an absolute bare minimum) after transport and accomodation ( that's AFTER ) you need at least 10k baht per week x 4 = 40 k say plus 15k plus 10 = 65 k for an individual , now this is also the amount needed for you Visa , for 2 people , times it by 2 .

I would suggest starting at numbeo.com to get a rough sense based on your needs.

Are you staying at Four Season's or a rural hostel ?
Cherlin ************
First start with your fix cost like accomodation. You can find rent from 5000thb to 100k thb a month
Ron *********
$25,000, maybe $30,000 daily. Not sure what that is in rupees but it's really expensive. Maybe try somewhere cheaper.
Bizen **********
Around 250$ if you are staying in dormitary or small apartment .

Lol. Love this question. Over and over. Here is my pre covid budget from July 2019 when I was in between bkk and Pattaya. If you don't drink or date, you can save a lot.
sure. But depends on where you want to do for the day. I would go to the food carts and pay 65 to max 80. But if you go into any restaurant and eat Western food 300. Lol. It was just a rough estimate of expenses I put together for some friends that wanted to travel to Thailand.
There is a big difference between going out a couple of times a week and hanging out in top end Gogo clubs every night.

It depends on the lifestyle that you want. For me, I live a decent life but hardly HiSo, nice condo, eat whatever I feel like and shop when I feel like it at markets and mid range places- not Louis Vuitton etc lol. I spend on average around 35,000 a month. Work pays a big chunk of my housing and all visa costs. The rest of the salary is for pension and travel. I don't own a house or car and don't want to be tied down to stuff like that either.

How long is a piece of string, your budget will depend on numerous thingβs, as you havenβt mentioned anything, as where you are staying, what you like to do etc etc, impossible to say, but allow at least a minimum of 75,000 baht person per month

Some Thais do it with less than 10,000THB/month. Depends on your preferences and comfort levels. Do you need an air conditioner? cocktails? exotic meals?
I got by fine on 30,000 THB/month but it wasn't enough to get ahead or cover emergencies.
Andre *********
Between 5.000 and 500.000 THB, depends your individual life style.

With 10,000 baht rent and simple life I would say 30,000 - 40,000 baht a month for a couple

0 baht monthly enough fo survive in bangkok but not enough for phuket or pattaya, don t expect to have big house or big condo this is just poor life ....
I've been here 7 years. I have spent 30,000 baht in a month and I have spent 150,000 baht in a month.
If you're asking what it costs to just live here, look at rental prices in the area you want to stay in, expect to spend around 10,000 for food and 3,000 on electricity, add on a motorbike rental, taxi, internet, and medical insurance to see how much you will spend per month.

A single person must have 65.000 B per month for get VISA in Thailand.
I think the biggest costs are insurance and living. Then food can be very cheep but also very expensive. And one parameter is of course to use alcohol or not
a western living in a developing country is not the same costs as a local living in a developing country.

The minimum wage is around B
*****
/m which is an indication on the low side. It depends on where you stay, what you do, what you eat etc. In a rural settings eating Thai food and traveling only in your area you can get away with B20 k. The sky is however the limit.
try to employ a person for that wage in Bkk. Even in the sticks it's now B 400 to B 500 per day. Entry level wages for government officials are already above B 15 k.
I think it's hot in the day and cool at night, that's my thinking, could someone google it for me and let me know if I am right πππ

If you are good you can live as cheap as 15,000 baht per month π€
But that would mean
No beer
No girls
No eating out
Eating noodles everyday
Renting Thai style dormitory for 3,000 or less per month
No aircon
Start adding some of those things and the cost goes up the more you add π€π€π€

There are many sites on the internet that look at these variables at various monthly budget figures. Suggest you do some research there to get answers that will best match your individual budget and personal priorities.

This is an argument that has gone on for decades from expats. I am staying out of this battle. Because whenever I mention how cheaply and well I have lived here for over two decades. I am told I must be living in a broken down wood shack in Isan with no running water. If you are able to speak basic Thai you can save yourself a lot of $$$ and stress in the long run.
jop, he right. It's not that I couldn't afford, I just don't need. Eat together with my Thai parents, look sunset in the beautifulst colors, go running on amazing beaches... Quality life don't have to be expensive
In my opinion, someone must have a miserable existence if they make their life dependent on financial means and cannot be happy with less consumption and material things. Happiness doesn't come from what you can afford, but rather from the fact whether you are a happy person yourself, I would say
BAHTS IS A MINIMUM...a way or an other..Thailand is not so cheap anymore..I live here since 20 years...the local people can live with less because they live in Family. and have fruits vegetables and poultry ..the town People need more , even if they rent a small room for 3000 bahts..a simple small soup here cost now 40 to 50 bahts..you need a min. of 150 b to eat in the street without drinks ect ct ect
base of social security minimum payments. 1010ΰΈΏ per month/worker

Accommodation 7.000-10.000. Health insurance 5.000, food 10.000-15.000, then travel ,transport ,phone,Internet, visa 10,000. So total 30.000 to 40.000 depend on spending and your life style can be 20.000 and can reach 60.000
Where in Thailand, how extravagant will you be living, will you be out all the time? How do you expect an answer with such a vague question is baffling

40.000 thb and up
Paul *******
My wife and I have been living on 50,000 thb per month for many years, not including holidays or unexpected medical costs. You can probably live on 20,000 thb per month or spends hundreds of thousands a month depending on your lifestyle.
