Hello everyone. Coming back to Thailand for 4 to 6 months but on a bit of a budget so around 9 to 12k a month is best until my plans start to kick in. Will be back and forth from Hua Hin/ Cha Am to Pattaya/ Jomtien and looking for rental sites for monthlies studios. Any suggestions would be appreciated

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat plans to return to Thailand for 4 to 6 months with a tight budget of 9000 to 12000 baht per month. The individual seeks recommendations for affordable rental options in areas like Hua Hin, Cha Am, Pattaya, and Jomtien. Community members engage with suggestions on navigating rentals without inflated prices typical for expats and provide insights on what to expect regarding living costs.

Sorry do you mean 9000 -

baht per month?

That budget is really tight. You will need more to live.

maybe he wants to sleep under bridges or on the beach
Andy ************
Just put in your description that only got accommodation, save all the people who can’t commenting
Mary ********
That's a really really poverty level if you are talking baht. Even street food at Chang Puak gate is running 200 baht for a lot of it.

another air head....what are you going too live on?.....water and oh yes water????

@Andrew *******
I think you missed the point. The 12k was my budget for an apartment as I don't need much anymore. Of course my expenses are higher but thanks for the comment.

BAHT! The OFFICIAL currency of Thailand. Welcome to the group

@Greta ****
I've been in this group long before you , bit thanks for yout late welcome . now when on Thailand you can mention and talk about any currency .you want

so just using a number doesn't mean anything specialy when the guy szys he'll have to live with 9 to 10k per month not saying he is gonna sleep under bridges or on the beach
Robert *****
Find a Thai women to arrange accommodations for you so you don’t pay the inflated Farang price.

been there done that years back. The wife like Jomtien and has friends in Pattaya. The city actually is of no interest anymore but I figure this is a good compromise. Otherwise I'd be back in Hua Hin or the islands south.

Might be advisable to give monthly budget for accommodation. That way, there's something to work on.
Phil ******
@Antony ******
really its best to go for a walkaround as anything you read see on English sites is directed to farangs.. you will save money
Detlef ***********
@Phil *****
very good point Phil !! I have also noticed ,& heard this scenario as many farangs ripping off other more vulnerable farangs & up and coming " entrepreneurial real estate agents"" with only ,"one goal"!!!
Phil ******
@Detlef **********
sure it can be dog eat dog mentality. We rent a very comfortable unfunished apartment (our furniture) air-conditioned for ฿4000 pm plus utilities......thai only site

@Phil *****
that amazing Phil ! Well done ! It just astounds me of some of the ridiculous budgets that bandid around & totally skewing the rental market for legitimate retiree's & Thai renters !!
