Application fees: Online DTV application VS in Person at Consulate/Embassy
I am seeking clarification on the application process for the DTV visa. Specifically, I would like to inquire whether submitting my application in person at the consulate would be a more secure option compared to applying online.
My concern stems from the non-refundable visa application fee of 10,000 THB. I recently came across a video featuring an influencer who claimed that they were only required to pay the application fee after their application had been approved.
In contrast, I understand that online applications require payment of the visa application fee at the time of document submission. Could you please confirm whether my understanding of this process is accurate?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The applicant seeks clarification about the DTV visa application process, specifically comparing the security of applying in person versus online due to the non-refundable fee of 10,000 THB. They express concern over the differing claims regarding when to pay this fee, particularly from an influencer suggesting payment is only required upon approval. Comments confirm recent changes in the application process, indicating that all applications are now submitted online since January 1, 2025, and the fee is required at the time of application submission, with no in-person options available.
I just double checked, yeah Yangon you submit and then make a reservation to pay cash 400 USD.

There are no more in person applicants. Last remaining embassies switched to 100% evisa on Jan 1st. However, you are correct. When there was an in person option, they would either check your documents or in a few locations approve you before payment. Unfortunately, no longer the case
Yeah sure, I didn't say the opposite, online they always take the money 💰

Are there any embassies you can now submit in person? I think it was when there were walk in applications you paid when you got the visa. Now it is e-Visa you pay when you make the application. The fee is to pay for the processing not the visa itself.
