My wife and I live in an a house in Udon Thani and leave our home on March 29 flying to BKK. We must get the ATK test at the airport in BKK on March 29 in the evening. We fly out on the am of March 30. We have no symptoms and are sure we are negative, but IF we test positive:

1 What happens next?

2. Does testing centre advise authorities?

3. What are our options?

Thanks very much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about the potential outcomes if they test positive for COVID-19 after taking an ATK test at Bangkok airport on March 29, just before their flight on March 30. They seek clarity on the next steps, whether authorities would be notified by the testing center, and what options they would have if they tested positive. Community comments suggest that, while a negative result is likely, travelers should prepare for isolation if a positive result occurs, including the difficulty of finding accommodations and the possibility of being taken to a hospital.

i don’t know the current rules , but in January, the folks who tested positive at the airport were taken in an ambulance to a hospital. Consider getting tested at a clinic or private hospital.

There's no hospitals to be taken to (they're pretty much full) so you'll basically be on your own until you can test negative to fly out. Will have to find a hotel or hospitel (not hospital) that will take you. You can either tell them you have Covid and hope they accept or find a hotel with room service and don't tell them and then isolate yourself and just order room service for a week until you can test negative on ATK.

Will do home test first. If need to isolate we can do in our house.

Honestly last time I went to the ATK in BKK they hardly swab my nose. It is very unlikely it will be positive. Before you leave home do your own ATK and make appropriate plans based on that.

Good idea Niclas. We will do that, I.e. test at home first.

You predict you by sure will test negative and have no symptoms in 7 days? So not worry the test, will be negative.
