Hi everyone! My husband applied for the DTV workcation at the London Embassy (as a British citizen) and he received a request for more info. They are asking for a utility bill as proof of residency but we've been living in Thailand for the last year as dependents on the kids education visas.
What other documents can we provide to prove we are in the UK? He doesn't have a UK driving license, and we stay at my brother's house so no hotel reservation.
Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A British citizen applied for the DTV workcation at the London Embassy but needs to provide proof of residency in the UK as they have been living in Thailand. They don't have a utility bill and are staying with a brother. Community suggests several options for proof including bank statements with a UK address, flight boarding passes, passport stamps, a hotel receipt from the brother, or photos with a local newspaper. They recommend various documents that might satisfy the embassy's request.
Ask your brother to give you a hotel receipt. Google maps screen shot showing the ‘blue location dot’ right on the hotel, and a picture of your husband outside the hotel, with the hotel name showing. All legitimate evidence
Pick up a local news paper and take a photo with it, clearly showing the date. Flight boarding passes from Thailand to UK, Thailand exit stamp and any UK entry stamp
I am pretty sure you can ask for one, even if you are a UK citizen. Often people will need it for various reasons and therefore should ask when entering
DTV_BegPecker In the UK, they force electronic gates. I got shouted out before for trying to go through manual gate before trying electronic (i already knew I was having issues with passport scans). Failing that, book a few nights in a cheap, cancellable hotel and use the booking confirmation?
DTV_BegPecker you don't need any stamp entering or leaving the country you have the nationality and nobody will give you a stamp and many gates are automatic even in Thailand you can leave without stamp.
Anonymous participant If it's the same address, may be worth trying to send a utility bill of your brother's and explaining that he is not on the bill in a cover letter. This worked for our passport applications from another country, so disclaimer that I don't know if it'll work, just seems logical if no other options.
