Hi all,

I’m about to apply for the DTV at the London embassy (workaction). Here is what I have:

Passport

Photograph

Work contract

Cert of employment

3 months of payslips

Bank statement with 20k GBP (1 month)

On the bank statement side, I moved the money from another account only 7 days ago, should I wait the full month before applying?

Is there anything else I need, or anything I’ve forgotten?

Thank you in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on applying for a DTV visa at the London embassy, currently having a passport, photograph, work contract, employment certificate, payslips, and a bank statement. They are uncertain about whether to wait a full month after transferring funds before applying and inquire about any missing documents. Comments from the community suggest additional required documents, including proof of address in the UK, a medical certificate, confirmation of remote work allowance, and travel documentation such as a boarding pass.

I got asked for my boarding pass to the UK

They also asked for my Thai exit stamp but I explained in a joint pdf that I couldn't provide that because I went through the e-gates but provided pics of my paper 2boarding passes from Thailand to UK connecting in Dubai

@Si**
thank you for sharing, this is helpful.

Initially they asked for my ticket to Thailand

But that e-ticket PDF showed it wasn't a one-way flight to Thailand it was a return back to Thailand, so they basically wanted proof that I took the flight to the UK and wasn't still in Thailand

@Si**
you mean your flight out at the end of the stay? Couldn’t one just book a ticket to another destination or must it be a return to the UK?

I would definitely recommend a few different additional things:

Proof of address in The UK like a utility bill, possibly also a rental agreement to show ties to the uk.

Letter of jntend for Thailand.

I believe you gonna have a hard time with 1 month worth of statements.

Furthermore I would recommend you have a seperate letter from your boss with explicit confirmation of allowance to work remotely.

Also I definitely believe it would help to send in your full passport to show you have left Thailand.

Send me a PB if you need further help or want some advice.

Proof that you are in the UK. They might also want to see your flight boarding pass showing you left Thailand and returned to the UK

thanks, John. My bank statement shows my address, will that suffice?

It might. The London embassy has been prone to ask for more concrete evidence, since address on a bank statement doesn’t prove you are actually in the UK. For example, I have not been to the United States for 10 years, but my bank statement shows my US address. The UK embassy has often wanted to see boarding passes, etc., especially if you are someone who already lives in Thailand. You can try the bank statement first and prepare to supply boarding passes if needed or just supply both up front.
